Barllikaadu….an eco friendly tourism in Coimbatore

People always want to spend their vacation or holidays in a peacefull manner…away from this noisy surroundings they come across everyday. For them all, it the nature’s gift to say, barllikaadu is the best eco friendly place for one day tourism.

It the tribal village, located at North of Coimbatore and is about 28 kms from the karamadai. The village is near the pillur dam , that is build across the attikadavu river.

This is the place with etra ordinary scenic beauty with awe views wherever you turn around. This tourist spot is maintained by the forest department and is mainly for the welfare of the tribal community.

The trip is arranged by the forest officers with the prior intimation. There is no service of transport provided and is little interior from the city. So the people who wants to reach the place can take a bus from karamadai or own vehicle.

The trip includes a chill ride in the attikadavu river for about 5 kms with trees and bushes surrounding both the sides. In this ride, the greenery and the beauty of the western ghats can be felt.

The lunch is provided by the tribal people that is the women self help community. The food includes both veg and non- veg with few varieties but note it, the food is very tasty and mouth drooling. After, the great yummy meal people can take a walk along the attikadavu river. The trek way is really awesome where you get dived into the greenery of the land and get oneself mesmerized with the smell of the shurbs and flowers there. Once you reach the end of the trek, can have a medicinal bath in the attikadavu river. Chill youself, have a great relaxation forgetting yourself from this busy world.

Later, in the evening you are taken back to banks. The entry fee is around ₹.500 for adults and ₹ . 300 for children. It includes the river ride, lunch, trekking and bath in the river. It is open for 5 days in the week. This is the best tourist spot for families to have one day programme to spend their time together and enjoy themselves in the laps of mother nature.
